Information sharing and security awareness resources now available

Te Whatu Ora | Health NZ has launched a new Information Sharing and Security Awareness webpage to support health organisations and providers with safe, secure and appropriate sharing of health information. The webpage also includes the recording of the national Information Sharing and Security Awareness webinar held on 1 July 2026.

The new resource hub brings together practical guidance to support organisations in sharing health information safely while protecting privacy, maintaining security, and supporting high-quality patient care. Resources include:

  • the webinar recording

  • quick reference guides and practical tools

  • security checklists and templates

  • links to e-learning modules through Ko Awatea LEARN and HealthLearn

  • guidance on privacy, information sharing and cyber security.

Practices are encouraged to explore the new resources and share them with relevant team members. If your practice is interested in completing the available e-learning, please contact your local Regional Workforce Development Lead, who may be able to facilitate workforce development funding.
